Why we began
The Piano Adoption Agency was founded on the idea that music is an essential part of the human experience, and the instruments we use to create music are sometime just as dear to us as the music itself. Many of us grew up playing or listening to the household piano reveberating through our childhood home, and because these instruments are built to last a lifetime, many of the pianos we grew up around are still with us, and carry within their wooden bodies the melodies of our loved ones. Unfortunately pianos are heavy and take up space, and sometimes life takes a turn where we have to say goodbye to these old faithful friends. My hope is that through the service of the Piano Adoption Agency, these pianos would find new homes to fill with music.
Examples of rehomed pianos
Kemble
This is a 1986 Kemble Piano in immaculate condition, as you can see from the photos. It was owned for 15 years by its previous family, where all four daughters learned how to play on it. This piano was produced in England, and is as much a piece of art as it is a musical instrument.
Baldwin Acrosonic
This is an Acrosonic spinet piano (made by Baldwin) that has been in the same family for four generations! It is now looking to fill its new home with beautiful music. This piano has aged beautifully, and very clearly has been immaculately cared for.
Kimball
When I first saw this piano I definitely thought it was going to sound rough due to its obvious age, but I couldn't have been more wrong. When it comes to pianos, you can tune them, you can refurbish them, you can preserve them as best you can - but the tone is something that's nearly impossible to control. This piano has it. I could not stop playing it. Every note has an amazing balance of sweetness and clarity unlike any piano I've had come through this agency so far. If you follow my seller page you know this is unusually long for a product description, but I felt I needed to at least try to do this piano justice in describing its character.
“SO thankful for Justin and his friend who delivered the MOST beautiful piano. I’m so thankful he tuned the piano as well. When you purchase from FB Markerplace it’s hard to know what you’re getting, with Piano Adoption Agency you’re getting the best. Justin was extremely professional, quick to respond and very knowledgeable about pianos. Thank you so much for our beautiful piano. Thank you!”
“A great experience from start to finish! Super professional. Fast response to all of my messages. Very friendly and delivered a great product. Highly recommend!”
Donate Your Piano
If you need to part with your beloved instrument and want to know that it is going to a good home and a family that will not only play it, but be informed about the piano’s history, send us an inquiry and we will get back to you shortly.
